BGMEA Delegation meets Senior Secretary of Home Affairs: Calls for ease of obtaining on-arrival visas for Buyers.

Today, BGMEA’s Standing Committee on Trade Fairs and Events Chairman M Sajedul Karim, Standing Committee on Press, Publications and Publicity Chairman Masud Kabir, and Market Development (South Africa) Committee Chairman Mamun Reza Jake paid a courtesy call on Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Manjur Morshed Chowdhury.

During the meeting, they briefed the Senior Secretary about the current overall situation, prospects and challenges of the country’s ready-made garment industry. They also detailed various strategic initiatives taken by BGMEA to expand into new markets.

However, citing some real challenges in expanding the global market, they said that buyers, especially from Latin American countries, the Middle East and South Africa, are facing various complications in obtaining on-arrival visas to come to Bangladesh. They sought the cooperation of the Ministry of Home Affairs to resolve this problem and make the process of obtaining on-arrival visas easier, faster and more effective for foreign buyers.

The Senior Secretary listened carefully to the delegation’s statements and assured to take necessary and effective steps after seriously considering the issues raised.
